Video ~ "Menakjubkan..!!!" CubeStormer Robot ini Memecahkan Kubus Rubik lebih Cepat dari Feliks Zemdegs
There is a new robot that can solve the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube faster than a human. The fastest robot in June, 2011 was Ruby, which could solve the cube in a little over ten seconds. This was slower than the fastest recorded human speed of 5.66 seconds, which is one of several cube records owned by Feliks Zemdegs. Now, there is a new Rubik's Cube master. The CubeStormer II can solve the Rubik's Cube in 5 .35 seconds. No human or robot is faster.

Xinhuanted reports that scientists at Zhejiang University in China have made two large ping pong playing robots. The tablet tennis bots are named Wu and Kong. They are 5.25 feet tall and weigh 121 pounds. The robots track the balls using eye-mounted cameras, which capture 120 images per second. Xiong Rong, the chief designer of the ping pong playing robots, says the robots can respond in less than 100 milliseconds with a margin of error of under 2.5 centimeters. The robots rally with each other and a human in this video. The best two-robot rally is 176 strokes.

Reuters reports that Panasonic Corp. has created three small robots, named Evolta-kun, that will bike, run and swim in the Ironman challenge in Hawaii. The little robots, built by Tomotaka Takahashi, are powered by Evolta AA rechargeable batteries. The robots will have to run, swim and bike for a total of 230 kilometers. They will have one week to complete the challenge.

Japanese scientists have created a robot that applies what it has learned in the past to new situations. The robot is named Self-Organizing Incremental Neural Network (SOINN). The scientists say when the robot is given a new task to complete it will either decide how to do it based on past experiences or it will say it doesn't know how to perform the task. Blocks and pills are used to represent ice and liquid in the experiment.

Researchers at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology created a robot that can read music by taking a photograph of the music with cameras in its eyes. The robot head then sings the music. The robot head is being programmed to interact and recognize humans so it can replace receptionists in restaurants. This does not seem like something people will want to be greeted by in a restaurant.

DARwIn-OP is a $12,000 miniature-humanoid-robot platform from Trossen Robotics. In this video, DARwIn appears very interested in a Tecate beer can, but uninterested in a Bud Light can. As PopSci suggests it appears DARwIn may have the recent RoboCup on his mind as he begins kicking the Tecate can. DARwIn might think the beer is a soccer ball. Take a look:

Japanese researchers have created Showa Hanako 2, a dental training robot. The robot named, Showa Hanako 2, has realistic looking skin and mouth made with silicone. The robot can shake its head, cough, gag and move its tongue like a real patient. Showa Hanako 2 will be manufactured and sold and used as a training robot for dentists.
